Bridging the Gap Between Education and Corporate Learning & Development
The Organizational Learning & Development (OLxD) Community is launching a transformative initiative, Beyond Adult Education: Pathways to Corporate Learning Excellence, a three-part webinar series designed to introduce undergraduates and recent graduates of Adult Education and other education-related disciplines across African universities to career opportunities in corporate Learning & Development (L&D).
Despite possessing skills in curriculum development, instructional design, and adult learning theories, many education graduates lack awareness of how these competencies can be applied in corporate training, instructional design, talent development, and workplace learning. Research has shown that a significant number of students in education programs do not willingly choose the field and remain unaware of career pathways beyond traditional teaching.
This initiative aims to bridge this knowledge gap by providing insights into corporate learning careers, essential skills, professional certifications, and industry trends. Through expert-led panel discussions, networking opportunities, and interactive learning, participants will gain a clear roadmap to transition into rewarding careers in L&D.
