L&D Hangout 4.0: A Fun-filled Gathering of Learning & Development Professionals
As the year draws to a close, the OLxD community gathered for the fourth edition of the L&D Hangout—an event that brought together Learning & Development professionals, HR leaders, and business experts for an afternoon of fun, networking, and connection.
Held on Saturday, December 14th, at a prime location in Lagos, this year’s edition of the L&D Hangout, themed “Chill and Unwind“, exceeded all expectations. Attendees arrived early, eager to connect and enjoy the day, which kicked off at noon with a series of interactive games like chess, ludo, and more. The relaxed yet engaging atmosphere was set from the beginning, paving the way for an afternoon full of memorable moments.
The event began with a warm welcome address that seamlessly transitioned into the fun-filled “Two Truth and one False” segment. It was a chance for attendees to share personal stories and inspire each other with their achievements. Some highlights included a participant who reads 100 books every year, another who had visited 18 states in Nigeria, and one attendee who was working on her doctorate while balancing a successful career. One of the standout moments came when a budding artist in the group performed one of her original songs, leaving the crowd in awe.
In addition to games and performances, the “Let’s Meet You” introduction segment was a true highlight, where members shared their professional journeys, and several attendees offered exclusive discounts on their books and services, demonstrating the spirit of generosity within the L&D community.
The energy in the room reached new heights during the karaoke session, where attendees showcased their playful sides, singing their favorite tunes and creating lasting memories. The fun and laughter were perfectly complemented by delicious food, refreshing drinks, and small bites that kept everyone fueled throughout the day, ensuring that the event had just the right amount of flavor—both figuratively and literally!
Beyond the fun, the event provided incredible networking opportunities, fostering meaningful connections that will undoubtedly extend far beyond the hangout. Attendees shared ideas, exchanged contacts, and even laid the groundwork for potential collaborations in the future.
