Inclusive Learning Event Checklist

Creating inclusive learning environments is no longer optional – it is essential for effective capability development.
To support Learning & Development professionals in designing accessible learning experiences, OLxD (Organizational Learning & Development Community) is pleased to announce the release of the Inclusive Learning Event Checklist for L&D Professionals.
This practical tool was developed in collaboration with the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) to help learning practitioners intentionally plan meetings, trainings, workshops, conferences, and other learning events that are inclusive of persons with disabilities.
The checklist provides practical guidance across key stages of learning delivery, including:
- Inclusive event planning
- Accessible learning design and facilitation
- Participant-specific inclusion considerations
- Venue and technology readiness
- Facilitator preparation
- Post-event follow-up
By integrating accessibility into learning design, organizations can improve participation, strengthen knowledge transfer, and ensure that capability development opportunities are available to all.
This collaboration reflects OLxD’s commitment to advancing inclusive learning practices across the L&D profession while supporting broader conversations about accessibility in workplace learning.
We encourage L&D professionals, facilitators, and learning leaders to adopt this checklist as part of their event and training planning processes.
